Up In The Sky ~ 59/365

We've gotten some much needed rain here the past few days, but this evening when the sun peeked out for a few moments I spotted this rainbow. Because it has been so dry lately, it's been a bit since I have seen one.

We went bowling tonight for family night and these were my shoes. Near holes in the sides, stretched out way too much for my skinny feet, flip flopping around, and catching on the floor... I think it's time for them to go into retirement.

But hey... somehow I bowled my best game ever!

His Favorite Presents ~ 57/365

I wish, oh how I wish I would have recorded the moment he opened up the box to reveal the jersey inside. Priceless!

I know, I know, this photo is almost a mirror image of yesterday's but I couldn't pass up the chance to photograph him with his favorites.

I Have a Twelve Year Old ~ 56/365

This is my son and he is twelve years old today. I'm still trying to figure out how in the world that happened.

Notice the football in his arms. This has become a new interest for him. Basketball is still his "first love" sports-wise though.

Koda ~ 55/365

Ever since our really cold temps a few months back that forced us to keep our nine year old shepherd inside for most of the day, Koda has decided that he wants nothing more than to be an indoor dog as much as possible. He's as happy as can be if he can be inside laying on his pillow.

Sleeping Babe ~ 54/365

I almost forgot to take a picture today (again!) so I raided the kids' room for ideas. What better than a sleeping babe to finish off the day?

A friend of ours celebrated her 50th birthday today. I think we did a great job surprising her!

Tonight ~ 51/365

Yohn took the boys for a "Guys Night Out" at Chik Fil A, so Bethany took advantage and got our game on. Then we watched Wreck it Ralph. We didn't want to be left out of the food though, and had Daddy bring our order back when he returned. Mmmm... love their chicken and waffle fries!

On a side note... it just so happened to be Mother/Son date night at Chick Fil A. Too bad we didn't know ahead of time! ;(

Chatterbox ~ 50/365

Okay so his name is really Sky, but this crazy cat did nothing but purr and meow and roll around on the back of the chair trying to get someone's attention!

School Work ~ 49/365

Her books lie right where she left them in the middle of the floor (along with her jacket and gatorade bottle). She stayed home from school today due to an upset stomach, so she worked hard at getting the day's work done this afternoon and into the evening.

Tippy Top ~ 48/365

We were just about to leave but then they asked if they could climb to the tippy top. To give you some perspective on this here's this photo:

Bethany is the pink spot toward the bottom and she's a third to halfway up. The boys are the red and blue spot further up and they are between halfway and two-thirds to the top. They had a blast challenging themselves like this, but did not like the hike back down.

Red Shoes & a Lost Tooth ~ 42/365

The title is fairly self explanatory. Elisha got running shoes for track today. I'm sure you can't guess what his favorite color is. This makes the third pair of red shoes he has chosen. The new shoes are a size ten. This kid is growing way, way too fast.

Bethany also lost another molar today. It's one she's been complaining about for a few days and now we know why. The tooth is already right there under the surface ready to grow in. It does make it awkward for her to eat as she already had some dental work done a few months back and all those teeth have not grown in yet. Good thing this tooth should grow in fast. We just have to worry about new adjustments to the retainer.

Coach ~ 41/365

Tonight was the night of the team party. The boys got to hang out together one last time before going separate ways again for another seven months. Most of them go to different schools. If some don't return next year, it may be the last time they see each other.

Coach Kevin promises to be back next year, bringing with him not only his knowledge of the game, but also his deep desire to see these boys grow into men of good character. For this we are thankful, and also a bit sad to see the season end.

Who Me? ~ 40/365

Our dear Diamond and the mess she made all over the sidewalk when she must have gotten bored and decided to dig a rather large hole in the yard.

Believe it or not I went out to get a picture of the rain and didn't notice the big hole or the mud all over the sidewalk, apparently, until after I had taken this picture of her.

Snow Day ~ 39/365

Yep, we traveled to see the snow! Unlike a good portion of the U.S. we do not live where it snows, so on days like today we take the opportunity to go visit it, kind of like we would the beach during the summer time. It was beautiful, with big fluffy, flakes falling the entire time we were there. Sledding and snowballs fights were the highlight of our trip.

Getting Ready ~ 38/365

Not my first choice photo-wise, but since I neglected to take a picture all day long, this is what I have left. I'm getting ready for our adventure tomorrow. Not everything is out and ready, but I'm working on it.

Tabby Cat ~ 37/365

Lynx is by far the brattiest cat I have ever owned. Before owning Lynx I really didn't fully understand those jokes about cats always doing things "their way" or "you don't own a cat a cat owns you". Lynx definitely wants things his way all. the. time. 

Walking towards the kitchen at the same time as Lynx and you just so happen to follow him? He'll let you know he doesn't like it.

Decide you'd like to stroke his soft fur when he's not interested in being petted? He'll let you know that's not his idea of fun.

Don't let him inside when he wants in (or out for that matter)? You'll get to listen as he jiggles the handle and stares in the window meowing that pitiful moan.

I could go on and on but you get the point. Interestingly enough, he protests every night when our daughter carts him off to bed, yet then he snuggles right in with her and stays there all night long. Lynx has been fun to own but a complete puzzle to figure out.

Endurance ~ 36/365

The second day of practice and he has decent endurance, coming in second most of the time against the other kids during warm ups and other drills. 

Today's practice began cold and ended colder with the rain starting to sprinkle down on all who were fortunate enough to be standing in its presence.

Start of the Season ~ 34/365

Track started today. Stretching, and running, and exercising will be their new routine. Saturdays (starting in March) will be filled with early mornings, coolers filled with sandwiches, drinks and snacks, hanging out with friends, and cheering the kids on. Here's to the start of the season!

Superbowl XLVII ~ 33/365

Seahawks fans are in the house!

Truthfully, I was neutral this year as to who root for, but as you can see there were many happy Seahawks fans where we were tonight.

Season Finale ~ 32/365

His final game of the season. Sadly, they did not win. But they did play hard and I'm very proud of them.

This season was hard for the boys. I think adjusting to jr. high ball was a bit of a surprise in the beginning. There are teams with much bigger boys. We're talking boys who you look at and think, I wanna see their birth certificates. Okay not really, but you get the idea. Here's to next year!
