I'm Behind, I know

I've had a little issue with discipline in posting my pictures this year. It never helps that my computer chooses when I wants to let me post stuff to the blog and when it just wants to sit and "think about it" for minutes on end.

I'm working on it and really am taking photos this year. I appreciate that you stopped by for a visit even though my photos are behind and now apparently dated incorrectly on these most recent ones. I'll have to work on correcting that...

Photo Fail ~ 90/365

I completely forgot to take a picture today. So instead I chose this photo that (sort of) still represented our day because it rained so much from 1:00 to 5:00 we decided not to go to track practice. It was actually much worse today than when I took this photo!

Double Scoop Night ~ 86/365

Purchase a double scoop and get a free waffle cone. Yes, please!

After track practice and dinner, it's the perfect end to the night!

Rainbow in the Sky ~ 85/365

It poured today and we weren't sure there would be track practice. But then it cleared up just long enough, so off we went. I was walking my laps (to help me get in shape, so I can run with Bethany) and spotted the rainbow in the sky. I love the view across the field of the kids practicing and the clouds and the rainbow.

Love That Smell ~ 84/365

I love, love, LOVE when the orange blossoms are present on the trees. Such a pleasant smell!

Sneaking in to Read ~ 83/365

She snuck into my room to read her book this afternoon, all cozied in the bed and reading by the light coming in through the curtain.

After the Run ~ 82/365

So her track coach wants her to run the 800 since she really can't compete with the sprinters. This means two whole laps around the track and a lot more conditioning. She balked at first, even refusing to do it. But then I talked to her and she agreed that if I started running with her on the days there is no practice to help her that she would give it a try.

Let's just say she's way more in shape than I am!

Along our chosen path we saw ducks with fluffy heads, turkeys, flowers in bloom, airplanes take off and land and a bicyclist who needed to pull his pants up a bit! :)

This is her after the run, while we enjoyed the quiet of the pond, the geese, the crane who caught a crawdad, and Bethany feeding snails to the ducks.

She's Got Talent! ~ 81/365

She did great! A few squeaks here and there towards the end when she got tired, but otherwise great for such a challenging song.

I'm sad the picture quality of this is not better. I was recording it and taking pics at the same time, so thus I got this grainy shot.

The Look ~ 79/365

I'm fairly convinced he didn't really want his picture taken today...

Just a Few More Days... ~ 77/365

Just a few more days until the talent show. Gotta push to get the song just right!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ~ 76/365

This picture makes me smile. We don't really celebrate St. Patty's except to wear green. The kids surprised me the this morning asking about the hats I bought from the dollar bin at Target a few years back. I had them in a storage container and was thankfully able to find them quickly, so a family picture was a must. Unfortunately I had to set the camera in a bush, use the timer and hope for the best. This photo is very edited! (and I'm standing on tip toes because I felt like I was hidden behind the hats)

Pretty Pup ~ 75/365

Today was a pretty typical Sunday: church, home, relaxing, movies, trampoline jumping, basketball bouncing, dirt digging, grocery shopping day. But the beauty in it is the just how the day itself was composed.

And I couldn't resist this photo I caught of our pretty pup!

UPDATED: I am entering this one in the I Heart Faces Pets Photo Challenge on November 10th, 2014.

Good Buddies ~ 74/365

First meet of the 2014 Track Season and I caught this picture of the boys hanging out on the bleachers with us waiting for the next event. It was a hot one today, as it hit the 80's by late morning. (Hot for this time of the year anyways).

I would have loved to have gotten more pics of the kids in their earlier events but because this is a volunteer organization we have to put in so many volunteer shifts per season and both Yohn and I decided to get some out of the way. He helped with the Softball throw measuring and I shepherded kids to the racing area during the relay races. Hard work I tell ya, HA!

Game Time ~ 73/365

He was blessed by a friend of ours with Warriors tickets for his birthday and the big day finally arrived. They got there early enough to get free shirts and watch the warm up too! He went all decked out in his Curry jersey and Warriors hat.

She graciously sent us some cell phone pics during the game so we could catch the action and see what our boy was up to.

Winners ~ 72/365

We had a four square tournament today at the kids' school for the elementary students (meaning Bethany participated but Elisha did not). I helped run the game and handed my camera off to someone else to help take pictures of the action. Funny how I didn't realize that I needed to be a little clearer about what I wanted them to take pictures of. There was only one real clear picture of the game, and a lot of the kids who chose not to play.

I expected to see a photo or two of my daughter involved in the game, but no such luck. So I am posting the only true photo I took today. The winners! They all got chocolate bunnies. Can you tell they had fun?

Not Feelin' It ~ 70/365

Not feeling too good tonight, but the thermometer just told us that there's not fever. Yay! for that at least.

Ummm.... Yeah ~ 69/365

Well, I can honestly say I had my camera with me today and had every intent to take a picture a few times. But when you get to talking to people sometimes the things you intend to do just don't manifest. So here I am tonight without a picture. There's a very bright, we're talking LED light bright, moon outside and thought I'd try my hand at it. Why not? Well, because really I don't have the skill, or the camera for that matter, to get the shot. So instead I give you the over-edited version of the moon that I shot (ha! ha!).

Goin' For a Stroll ~ 66/365

While Elisha was at a friend's house the three of us decided to head to 7-11 to return our Redbox movie and get a Slurpie for Bethany.

Bonus Pic:

I had fun snapping this picture off the bridge over the freeway while Bethany waved at the drivers below. She got several to honk and wave back at her.

Dinner and a Movie ~ 65/365

So I forgot to take a picture while we had the dinner part, but it's family night and we cashed in the kids Book It Pizza Hut coupons and rented The Croods from Redbox. An nice and easy family night!

Duck Walk ~ 64/365

I think it may be her least favorite of the exercises she does in track but look at the concentration on her face. She laughs her way through it most times complaining through the giggles that her legs are burning.

And no, despite how it looks, she didn't hit or push the kid next to her in the head.

Pancake Day ~ 63/365

Today was National Pancake Day, and of course we celebrated first thing in the morning with a free pancake breakfast courtesy of IHOP!

While Waiting in the Car ~ 62/365

While the kids were at track practice I waited in the car with my Kindle. Normally I watch them practice, but today it was sprinkling practically the whole time and so I skipped out and read "Courageous" instead.

Even though this book was written after the movie I am still enjoying it. While there is much of it that is the same, there are parts that make the story a little bit deeper.

If He Had His Wish... ~ 60/365

If he had his wish he would play video games every waking moment of the day. But since we don't allow it, he soaks up every minute he can on the weekends instead.
