Went on a walk today during my lunch break and enjoyed the view. Such a nice break from the rain.

25/365/2017 - Temptations

Our church does an annual 21 day fast. This year I chose dessert foods as they are a vice for me sometimes. Wouldn't you know it that just a few days in I received these candies from people. I've had them stashed in my desk drawer at work and had to look at them every day. Only a few more days to go, and believe it or not, I'm not even been bothered by their presence anymore.

What started out as our family game turned into a game with just her and I. Aw well, we still had a lot of fun together.

Cell phone pic, not the greatest BUT we couldn't let the moment slip away...

We do not have cable or any form of televised tv at our house (yes, we have a tv, but use it for movies and games only), so when the Spurs are playing the Heat in the NBA finals and the games are really, really good we just can't miss out on all of them. So out to eat we went, to a place where we could watch most of it.

Three out of four of us were very entertained and the one that wasn't chose to entertain herself, LOL...

At the end of the night, the Spurs had thoroughly spanked the Heat on their own home court, winning game four of the NBA finals.

This has to be one of the worst pics I've ever posted... BUT when you stumble upon a promotion for $1.00 frozen yogurt with all the fixin's you just don't pass that up!

The Reservoir ~ 146/365

Took a trip to a semi-local park (it's about a 30 minute drive) to have a picnic. Well, we didn't find the "perfect spot" and ended up dragging our cooler about halfway around the reservoir before finally stopping to eat. But it was still a lot of fun. Too bad it's forbidden to play in the water though, cuz' it was a warm day!

A Bike Ride ~ 135/365

Our evening together was spent exploring the bike trail. We rode about 2 1/2 miles one way (and then back, of course!).

Ouch! ~ 132/365

Spend most of the day filling in the bubbles on the test cover sheets and then fixing the students bubbles so they were completely filled in with no white showing and no marks outside. The callous on my finger got a definite workout today.

Mother's Day ~ 131/365

No he's not taller than me, I'm bending down for her. But it won't be too much longer...

Free Movies! ~ 114/365

Gotta love free movie night at the drive ins. The Lego Movie and Frozen were the features of the night. Yohn fell asleep during the Lego Movie and Elisha and I fell asleep during Frozen. But everyone else fared just fine.

My Best Friend ~ 108/365

We went on an outing today with the kids (they had no school because it was Good Friday) and while they rode scooters and skates and generally ran around we set the timer on the camera and snapped a few pictures. I like this one the best.

SS Jeremiah O'Brien - 95/365

It was a beautiful day in San Francisco. We visited the SS Jeremiah O'Brien and spent nearly 2 1/2 hours exploring the large ship. This is us sitting on the deck with Alcatraz in the background.

Rainbow in the Sky ~ 85/365

It poured today and we weren't sure there would be track practice. But then it cleared up just long enough, so off we went. I was walking my laps (to help me get in shape, so I can run with Bethany) and spotted the rainbow in the sky. I love the view across the field of the kids practicing and the clouds and the rainbow.

After the Run ~ 82/365

So her track coach wants her to run the 800 since she really can't compete with the sprinters. This means two whole laps around the track and a lot more conditioning. She balked at first, even refusing to do it. But then I talked to her and she agreed that if I started running with her on the days there is no practice to help her that she would give it a try.

Let's just say she's way more in shape than I am!

Along our chosen path we saw ducks with fluffy heads, turkeys, flowers in bloom, airplanes take off and land and a bicyclist who needed to pull his pants up a bit! :)

This is her after the run, while we enjoyed the quiet of the pond, the geese, the crane who caught a crawdad, and Bethany feeding snails to the ducks.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ~ 76/365

This picture makes me smile. We don't really celebrate St. Patty's except to wear green. The kids surprised me the this morning asking about the hats I bought from the dollar bin at Target a few years back. I had them in a storage container and was thankfully able to find them quickly, so a family picture was a must. Unfortunately I had to set the camera in a bush, use the timer and hope for the best. This photo is very edited! (and I'm standing on tip toes because I felt like I was hidden behind the hats)

Goin' For a Stroll ~ 66/365

While Elisha was at a friend's house the three of us decided to head to 7-11 to return our Redbox movie and get a Slurpie for Bethany.

I had fun snapping this picture off the bridge over the freeway while Bethany waved at the drivers below. She got several to honk and wave back at her.
